Occupational therapy helps children participate in the occupations of childhood by promoting sensory integration, physical control/coordination, developmental skills, psycho-social skills, and adaptation. Children’s occupations include: playing, eating, self-care, learning, writing, community skills, and socializing.

Speech therapy teaches skills and strategies to help children effectively communicate in their environment. Primary areas of assessment and remediation include: 1) Articulation- how sounds are produced, 2) Language- understanding others and expressing yourself, 3) Fluency- flow of language, 4) Voice- pitch, loudness, resonance, and vocal quality.
